Aubrey Waddle
I turn complicated datasets, market behavior, and political trends into analysis people can actually use. My work sits at the intersection of data analytics, market research, political reporting, and business decision-making.
About Me
Analytical depth with a reporter's instinct for the story
I am a data analyst and independent researcher with a particular interest in financial markets, electoral behavior, public policy, and the economic forces that shape everyday life. My goal is to build a career in market or political analysis where I can combine technical research with clear, evidence-based communication.
My interest in analytics began before I had formal training. As a teenager, I studied commodity prices, interest rates, options behavior, and macroeconomic trends. I taught myself to organize and analyze historical data in Excel and eventually built Monte Carlo simulations to explore option-contract outcomes. That curiosity developed into more than a decade of hands-on experience following and trading crude oil, interest-rate, equity-index, and volatility products.
I later earned a Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics from Southern New Hampshire University and am continuing my education through graduate study in data analytics. Across academic, freelance, and personal projects, I have worked with SQL, Python, R, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, relational databases, predictive models, and statistical visualization.
What separates my work from purely technical analysis is that I care just as much about context as calculation. I want to know why a pattern exists, what assumptions produced it, who is affected, and how the finding should change a decision. Whether I am analyzing volatility regimes, voter coalitions, enterprise data architecture, or operating costs in my own business, I focus on translating evidence into a useful conclusion.
What I Bring
More than a list of software
Employers do not only need someone who can produce a chart or run a model. They need someone who can frame the right question, build a dependable analysis, recognize limitations, and explain what the result means.
Market & Economic Analysis
Experience studying futures, options, volatility, interest rates, crude oil, and equity indices gives me practical familiarity with risk, pricing behavior, regime shifts, and the difference between a statistical relationship and a tradable conclusion.
Political & Policy Research
I examine polling, election results, demographic change, material conditions, party strategy, public policy, and geopolitical history. I aim to make my assumptions transparent and distinguish evidence from interpretation.
Technical Analytics
I clean, join, structure, query, model, and visualize data using SQL, Python, R, Excel, Tableau, and Power BI. I also understand relational design, data governance, indexing, execution plans, and database performance.
Communication & Judgment
My reporting and business experience have taught me to communicate with both technical and general audiences. I prioritize accuracy, useful framing, reproducibility, and recommendations that reflect the real constraints of the organization.
Selected Work
Projects that show how I think
My portfolio includes academic work, independent market research, database development, and applied business analysis. These projects demonstrate the full process from raw data to a defensible conclusion.
Financial Analytics
SPX Returns & VIX Regime Analysis
An ongoing independent research project examining S&P 500 return distributions across volatility regimes. The work includes regime segmentation, transition probabilities, shock filters, forward-return analysis, event studies, strategy testing, and equity-curve evaluation.
Predictive Analytics
Employee Attrition Classification
Combined 15 HR files into a structured dataset of roughly 7,000 records, selected meaningful workforce variables, and compared logistic regression with random forest classification. The project included data preparation, model evaluation, feature interpretation, and stakeholder-focused visualization.
Enterprise Data Strategy
NexStar Finance Data Architecture
Designed an enterprise data-management strategy for a multinational financial-services case study involving fragmented cloud and legacy systems. The work covered current-state assessment, conceptual and logical models, governance, implementation planning, cost considerations, ethics, and global compliance.
Statistical Modeling
El Niño Buoy Analysis
Used R to model ocean and atmospheric measurements with linear regression and decision-tree methods. The analysis compared model behavior, identified influential variables, and translated technical results into clear visual and written findings.
Database Development
CrossFit Performance Database
Developed and implemented a MySQL-backed system for storing and retrieving weightlifting performance data for more than 50 gym members. The work included schema design, SQL queries, WordPress integration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Applied Business Analytics
All Seasons Pool Solutions
Founded and grew a local service business while managing pricing, accounting, operating expenditures, chemical usage, customer communication, and route decisions. This experience keeps my analysis grounded in margins, labor, customer retention, and operational tradeoffs.

Databases & Data Management
MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, relational modeling, joins, CTEs, window functions, indexing, stored procedures, query plans, ETL concepts, and data governance.
Visualization & BI
Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Excel dashboards, statistical graphics, executive summaries, and visual storytelling for technical and nontechnical audiences.
Methods & Domains
Regression, classification, random forests, decision trees, ROC analysis, hypothesis testing, time-series analysis, market regimes, political polling, macroeconomics, and derivatives.
Professional Perspective
Experience beyond the classroom
Freelance Data Analyst & Reporter
Builds datasets, analyses, dashboards, and written reports with an emphasis on political analysis, market research, statistical evidence, and understandable conclusions.
Financial Derivatives Trader
Trades and studies futures and options involving crude oil, interest rates, equity indices, the VIX, calendar spreads, and option-spread structures.
Owner, All Seasons Pool Solutions
Founded and manages a growing service business, applying data and financial judgment to costs, pricing, material usage, customer retention, and day-to-day operations.
Database Developer, CrossFit Willis
Designed and supported a MySQL database integrated into a WordPress environment for member performance tracking and leaderboard functionality.
What I am looking for
I am pursuing data analyst, market research, business intelligence, political data, economic research, and reporting roles where I can investigate meaningful questions, work directly with evidence, and communicate findings that improve strategy or public understanding.
